You may have prayed long, asking the Lord to give you a good spouse, but none is coming. Oh, you are married. You have been praying for a child, and none is coming, and you want to get a new job, and there is no job. It seems he’s not hearing you. You ask, “Why me?” I tell you, you’re not alone. It happens every day with many people. But I want to assure you that the Lord did not abandon you. When Christ cried out, he was crying to the Father. “Why have you abandoned me?” But he knew God did not abandon him. And that will show you that God does not abandon you when you are in difficulty. Sometimes, we are looking for something, but it may not be the best for us.
It’s always good to have an open heart and know, after all, you have prayed for, say, “God, you know the best. Give me the best.” And His best is always the best.

You recover from failure by not…

Yearning For God

And suddenly, it is clear that this person is about to die. Saint Augustine said, “We yearn for the Lord.” That yearning for God may come fully to you. At that moment, you have no more hope of anything other than the God who made you, who you are…

Roman 15, verse two says, “Let each of us please his neighbor “for his good to edify him.” Sometimes some of us think that happiness comes from pleasing ourselves.
