I get asked very often by people who are slightly older than me. “Father Tim, where are all the young people? They’re not coming to mass. They’re not growing in their relationship with the Lord. They don’t believe in anything.”
A bit of that is valid, but most of it is false. Me and Spirit Juice and 24,000 of our closest friends were at a conference called SEEK, which was incredible. Twenty-four thousand young people worship the Lord and do it joyfully. It was an incredible witness to what the present church is like. Here are young people who are not convinced about our current culture, want to grow in their relationship with the Lord, believe everything the Catholic Church teaches, and say yes to Jesus daily. This brings so much conviction to my heart. As a college chaplain, I see this every day, and I want to say that Jesus is raising so many young people to be saints and change the world.

Living in Unreality
Okay, so I just spent three hours playing Fortnite with another priest. And yes, we got some dubs. But afterward, I felt horrible after three hours of living in unreality that weighed on me. Whenever we are living away from the truth, that is further away from Jesus. And in the gospel for this Sunday, Pilate is also living in unreality. He knows that Jesus is innocent, yet he decides to live and act not in reality…

On Imaginative Prayer
Saint Ignatius of Loyola. He is a rockstar saint. He popularized something that is called imaginative prayer. We use our imagination to pray because God created our imagination to speak to us. That’s incredible! This Sunday’s Gospel is absolutely beautiful. It’s the Prodigal Son. Prodigal Son leaves the Father’s house, but he’s…

Embrace The Ordinary
Imagine yourself three years ago. What were you like? Most likely, you have grown and matured, and the vast majority of those three years were probably really ordinary; they were probably boring. We are now in ordinary time, and the Gospel is for this Sunday. The disciples begin their three-year journey with Jesus. Imagine the disciples at the beginning of this time, and imagine who they are at the end of that time…
