Resume As A Christian

If you had a resume for being a Christian, what would be on it? In the second reading for this Sunday, Saint Paul lists out his resume, and it’s not what you think. Saint Paul doesn’t boast of his successes and awesomeness. He boasts of his weaknesses. His weaknesses are what makes him strong, offering his vulnerability to Jesus. For Saint Paul, he has a huge list for his resume. He has been shipwrecked. He has been stoned. He has been hit with rods. He has been scourged. He has been left for dead. When we suffer with Christ, who suffered for us, that is what redeems the world.

So my invitation to all of us is not to be afraid of your weaknesses. Do not fear being vulnerable with Jesus because that makes us strong Christians. Spicy question: if you were brought into court on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? This is Spirit Juice. Peace.
