Bible study mode activate. The first reading for this Sunday from Isaiah is fire. God is speaking to the people of Israel, saying, “I will place the keys of the House of David on the shoulder of Eliakim. When he shuts it, no one will open it. And when he opens, no one shall shut. When the king is away, Eliakim, you are in charge.” We see this again in the Gospel. Jesus says to Peter, “You are rock, you are Peter. On this rock, I will build my church. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.” And I can imagine all the apostles doing a double take because they know the book of Isaiah. They understand what Jesus is saying to Peter. “When I am away, I give you the keys of heaven. You are in charge.” Realize this beautiful gift that Jesus has given us—His Church and His authority, through the Holy Father, through our amazing Pope Francis. You are safe within the rock of Peter.

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, everyone. Merry Christmas, y’all. Merry Christmas, mom. Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown. This day is a day of intimacy that the Incarnation is all about intimacy. It’s God literally becoming flesh, becoming one of us, so that we can love Him, we can know Him, and we can live with Him forever. There is no greater love…

God’s Radiating Love
This has got bad news written all over it. If you have ever seen “Chernobyl,” “Godzilla,” or “The Simpsons,” you know that radiation is silent. You don’t feel anything, and it can change you. Similarly, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is just like that, only it gives you life and doesn’t kill you. When we go to adoration, it is silent. We don’t feel anything, but it is super…
