There is an amazing, awesome place called Castel Gandolfo. It has nothing to do with the Lord of the Rings, or the White Wizard. Castel Gandolfo is the Pope’s summer home. The Pope usually goes to this beautiful villa when it’s crazy, crazy, hot in Rome. When you are walking up to this beautiful villa, you will see an amazing image of our Lady. And this image of our Lady, underneath it says, in Latin means, “My heart is vigilant.”
In the Gospel for this Sunday, Christ is calling us to always be vigilant. And so Mary is the perfect example of being vigilant. Just having her heart always pondering the Lord and thinking about Christ. My invite this Sunday is to be like Mary, who is always pondering everything about her Son in her heart. Do we do that? Reject anything that is not from Christ. Be like Mary.

What Is The First Thing You Think Of?
When I say these phrases, what is the first thing that you think of that comes to mind? The first, “You’re a wizard, Harry.” Hopefully you thought of Hagrid from Harry Potter. The second, “Do not be afraid.” St. John Paul the Great, obviously, and the third, “We don’t talk about Bruno.” Encanto. You know there are a lot of phrases in our lives…

Pentecost 2024
Okay, so I promise I am not a pagan. In Greek mythology, the God Prometheus steals heavenly fire and gives it to the people on earth. The gods, especially Zeus, are so upset that they condemn Prometheus to eternal punishment because they are jealous and want to withhold the fire. This is the crazy thing. Today, on Pentecost, it’s the opposite, that our Father in Heaven gives us his fire…
