There is an amazing, awesome place called Castel Gandolfo. It has nothing to do with the Lord of the Rings, or the White Wizard. Castel Gandolfo is the Pope’s summer home. The Pope usually goes to this beautiful villa when it’s crazy, crazy, hot in Rome. When you are walking up to this beautiful villa, you will see an amazing image of our Lady. And this image of our Lady, underneath it says, in Latin means, “My heart is vigilant.”
In the Gospel for this Sunday, Christ is calling us to always be vigilant. And so Mary is the perfect example of being vigilant. Just having her heart always pondering the Lord and thinking about Christ. My invite this Sunday is to be like Mary, who is always pondering everything about her Son in her heart. Do we do that? Reject anything that is not from Christ. Be like Mary.

The Lowest Seat
This Sunday’s gospel is all about partying. I think Pope Francis should write an encyclical about how to party like a Catholic. This gospel is so good because Jesus talks about parties. We are called, not just in parties, but in life, to take the lowest seat so that we can be raised up. When you enter into a church, what is the lowest seat…

Stop Exposing Others to Shame
It is the fourth Sunday of Advent and the Gospel today is very beautiful. It talks about St. Joseph, since he was a righteous man, does not want to expose Mary to shame and I think that is an incredible witness for us because we can so easily expose others to shame. It is the holiday season. We are with family all the time. There’s a lot of…

Truly, Interiorly, Fulfilled
So, when I was a senior in college, I got offered a job with the FBI. And I remember when that moment happened, I felt interiorly so empty, which is crazy because here’s what the world is saying. This will make you happy. This will make you fulfilled. It felt empty at the time because I knew the Lord was calling me to something else. He was calling me to something that would…
