A few years ago, I was at a barbershop, and while getting my haircut, a woman shared with everyone in the room that she had a rough year. And because she had had a rough year, she decided to cancel Christmas. And the inner Buddy, the elf in me, freaked out. You can’t cancel Christmas. How can you do that? The reality is that the incarnation cannot be canceled. Christmas is cancel-proof because Jesus Christ is at the center of it all. We are on this Earth because of Jesus. We exist because of Jesus. We have meaning in our lives because of Jesus. We get eternal life because of Jesus. On this solemnity of the nativity of Jesus Christ, realize that Christmas is cancel-proof and that from this moment on to the end of your life, let Jesus Christ be at the center of it all because He already is. On behalf of Spirit Juice Studios, Merry Christmas.

That’s the equivalent of watching all of the seasons of “The Office” nonstop, eight times in a row. That’s the equivalent of reading the Bible cover to cover nonstop 13 times in a row. So why is he doing this…

Embrace The Ordinary
Imagine yourself three years ago. What were you like? Most likely, you have grown and matured, and the vast majority of those three years were probably really ordinary; they were probably boring. We are now in ordinary time, and the Gospel is for this Sunday. The disciples begin their three-year journey with Jesus. Imagine the disciples at the beginning of this time, and imagine who they are at the end of that time…

Just Like A Good Goalie
Hugo Lloris is a fantastic goalie on the Tottenham Hotspurs soccer team in English soccer, or if you’re in England, football. Hugo Lloris said this about being a goalie. “It’s not just about the talent. “It’s being in the right place at the right time.” So Jesus in the gospel is saying, “Stay awake. “Be alert. Be prepared. “Be in the right place at the right time.” As Christians, we are often not in the right place…
