Maybe or maybe not you have a friend like this, someone who is so good at giving grand gestures, someone who really knows how to show you a good time. But that person then, like, ghosts you for two weeks straight. If we don’t have consistency in a friendship, then it just feels empty.
And here is what Jesus is saying in this Sunday’s Gospel. Those who are trustworthy in small things are trustworthy in great ones. That before we can live that great life that Jesus has in store, we have to be consistent with him in our prayer. And so we are so good at making grand gestures like going to confession and just pouring out our whole hearts for the Lord, and then we ghost him for like two weeks. This next week, be consistent with Jesus. Visit Jesus and the blessed sacrament for 10 minutes, that’s it. It’s the small consistencies. That’s what changes the world.

Adopted by God Through Baptism

Baptism is so awesome because no matter if you were baptized with just water gently poured on your head, or if you were fully immersed, or even if a fire hose was shot at you. When you are baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, you are adopted by God. Jesus, in the gospel for this Sunday, says…

Let Jesus Clean House
This happens in professional sports all of the time. A team is on a losing streak. The owner is not happy. And so the owner brings in a new coach to clean house. In this Sunday’s gospel, Jesus enters the temple and cleans house. He is not satisfied with his home being violated. The crazy thing is that we are also a home for Jesus. We also have a temple within our hearts for the…

Joy in the Midst of Suffering
So, have you ever felt like you are going to die after you get a paper cut or stub your toe? Me too. But amid her suffering, she knew that Jesus had already won in her heart, and she did not have to be afraid. Today, we celebrate…
